Where to start

This 8-week (30 min/week) program is FREE! Gear is available to use during the session.
Participant will need to come to an equipment fitting prior to the program to receive the gear.

Printscape Arena offers multiple programs for people with a desire to master the skill of ice skating.  We have developed a world class program that provides all participants a positive atmosphere to achieve their goals, whether they are to simply learn to ice skate for fun or to become a hockey player/figure skater.

Introductory in-house Learn To Play Hockey program for 4 and 5 year-olds. One class per week, 10-week program. A foundational skills of hockey class taught through basic skating, stickhandling, passing, and shooting repetitions. Equipment is included (except skates) for FIRST time participants. Participants must also have participated in AND completed a Learn To Skate, Little Penguins, or Take a Shot at Hockey or another similar LTP program satisfactorily prior to enrollment. A participant should know how to balance on skates and be able to pick themselves up after falling as a beginning sign of skating aptitude. Registrants can repeat taking the class as often as desired until confident in the next step in the Learn To Play development model! Equipment is available to FIRST-TIME registrants ONLY if not having completed the TASH program and already having equipment.

LITTLE PENGUINS - OFFERED FALL & WINTER

n introductory Learn To Play Hockey Program for 6 to 9 year-olds sponsored by the Pittsburgh Penguins and the National Hockey League (NHL). One class per week, 8-week program. Equipment is available through the Little Penguins registration supported by Dick's Sporting Goods.

Little Rebellion Learn to Play Hockey Program is the second step in the Learn To Play Hockey Program for participants ages 6 to 11 who have satisfactorily completed Mini-Mites, learn to skate or a similar learn to play program prior to enrollment.

Equipment included in the program for first time registrants.

Junior Rebellion Developmental Program is the third and final step in the Learn To Play hockey model for participants ages 6 to 11 who have satisfactorily completed Mini-Mites, Little Rebellion, or a similar program prior to enrollment. The program is ideal for the hockey player that doesn't want the time and financial commitment of travel hockey. It includes one practice and one game per week and 2 sessions per year offered in the fall and winter.

Full equipment required and is not provided.

The South Pittsburgh Hockey Club was chartered in 1994 to organize and conduct ice hockey teams for all ages.  SPHC operates an amateur hockey program for boys and girls from Mite to Midget levels (ages 5-18).
